UCT Epic Job Expo connects students with career opportunities

University of Cape Town’s (UCT) Epic Job Expo 2026 brought together students, employers and industry leaders for a day focused on career opportunities, networking and the transition from university into the world of work.

The Expo gave students an opportunity to engage directly with potential employers, explore graduate, vacation work and bursary opportunities, and gain insight into what organisations are looking for beyond academic achievement.

The event also featured a new Career Conversation Corner, where students could ask employers questions about career pathways and how their degrees translate into the workplace, alongside a CV Lab offering personalised CV reviews and spaces designed to encourage connection and engagement.

For students, the Expo was an opportunity to broaden their understanding of the labour market and consider possibilities across disciplines, including fields where career pathways may not always be immediately visible.

For employers, the event offered direct access to emerging talent, with participating organisations highlighting qualities such as curiosity, communication, confidence, technical competence and a willingness to tackle complex problems.
