Planning your deadlines around the holiday season
The eRA internal approvals process involves various UCT staff across faculties and departments. During December and January, many staff members will be on leave and faculties will be operating at limited capacity. We
would like to help you prepare around the holiday season by informing you about faculty and institutional staff availability.
For international funding applications due between mid-December and mid-January, researchers will need to plan their budget reviews and internal approvals in advance. Approval of late submissions cannot be guaranteed.
Go here for more details on finance staff availability and internal deadlines at the
various faculties over the coming months.

African Research Society seminar
Monday, 21 November 2022 at 17:30 (SAST)
Research can be a rocky journey that can have various challenges and failures on the way to success. We learn and travel the road best when we learn from those who have traveled before us.
As we continue to invest in African-centric research, we bring to you two internationally-renowned researchers who have made groundbreaking and novel discoveries in science and healthcare. The African Research Society invites you to learn more about
Dr Harvey Alter, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2020 and Professor Richard Henderson, winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2017. Join us and learn how you too can reach for the stars. See more details here.
Please register here to attend. This is a hybrid seminar, and can be joined online via Zoom or in-person at the UCT Neuroscience Institute.
