The University Research Committee (URC), has made funding available for up to 20 members of the UCT staff to attend, in-person, the 7th World Conference on Research Integrity (WCRI). Applications are invited as soon as possible
and no later than 18 May 2022.
UCT’s Office of Research Integrity, along with the World Conferences on Research Integrity Foundation, is hosting the 7th WCRI at the Cape Town International Convention Centre 2, from 29 May to 01 June 2022.
Conference theme: Fostering Research Integrity in an Unequal World
Subthemes:
- Research integrity as a driver of research excellence and public trust
- Ethical best practice in authorship, publication and the use of research metrics
- Best practice in detection, investigation, and responding to research misconduct
- Colonial legacies and research integrity: moving forward by building equity into research
- Counteracting plagiarism in multicultural and multilingual contexts
- Institutionalising Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) education and training, including curriculum development and implementation in low resource settings
Deadline: As soon as possible but no later than midnight, 18 May 2022
Sponsored attendees will receive on-site conference registration for the full 3 days (which includes on-site catering for lunch and tea breaks) and access to the opening plenary and welcome reception (Sunday, 28 May).
Sponsored attendance will not include pre-conference workshops and the gala dinner. The Office of Research Integrity will arrange for the registration fees to be paid directly to the conference organisation company and will collect
additional information to facilitate registration.
