Reminder: call for DHET creative research output submissions
Deadline: 31 May 2022
The Research Office invites research staff to submit their 2019, 2020 and 2021 creative research outputs for submission to the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). This process results in the DHET awarding subsidies to
UCT for creative research outputs in the following subfields: fine and visual arts; music, theatre, performance and dance; design; film and television; and literary arts.

Call for proposals: US Mission to South Africa
Intention to submit deadline: 1 April 2022
The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the US Mission has announced a call for proposals that strengthen ties and build relationships between the United States and South Africa. Project activities must take place in South Africa and be directed at
South African audiences or participants. Proposals must also target at least one of six specific categories the funder has listed as priority areas, namely:
- combatting climate change
- improving journalism training
- entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship: expanding economic opportunities for youth
- promoting equity, social justice and social cohesion
- a global crisis: trafficking in persons
- expanding the university partnership initiative

Call for applications: Wellcome Trust evaluating interventions to help manage the health effects of heat
Intention to submit deadline: 25 April 2022
The Wellcome Trust has launched an award that will fund teams led by researchers from low- or middle-income countries to test interventions to manage heat-related health risks in real settings.
Successful applicants will be expected to actively promote a diverse, inclusive, and supportive research environment within their team and across their organisation.

The next session of the Digital Scholar Series takes place on 23 March 2022 and examines in depth the ways to organise and document research data. Some of the topics examined in more detail are the use of forms for data capture, the importance of
