UCT VC meets with school officials
19 October 2018 | Video Evan Zerf. Photo Je’nine May.University of Cape Town Vice-Chancellor Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng met with school principals, teachers and Western Cape Education Department officials on Tuesday, 16 October, at the Oude Molen Academy of Science and Technology.
The main purpose of the event was to strengthen the ongoing relationships between UCT and local schools with a view to encouraging learners to apply to UCT when choosing where they want to study.
At the meeting the VC shared her vision for her time in office with the group, and also took the opportunity to socialise with them before the event.
