The 2018 Humanities Careers Café, offering Humanities students an excellent opportunity to gain insight into how to put their degrees to work in a range of diverse careers, will take place on 26 September in the New Snape Building on Upper Campus.

Graduates and professionals will be on hand to share with students how they’ve applied the skills they learnt during their degrees to career paths in the developmental and media sectors, while highlighting available options and illustrating the importance of their transferable skills in the workplace.

The event is specifically organised to address the belief amongst some Humanities students that their needs aren’t adequately catered for at traditional careers fairs, according to the University of Cape Town (UCT) Careers Service team.

The evening comprises four panel discussions, two of which run concurrently, followed by a Q&A session. There will be an opportunity to network with the panellists after the discussion over light refreshments.

The Careers Café takes place on 26 September in Snape 4B, on Upper Campus, from 16:50 to 20:00.

Booking is essential, so visit the event pages at Humanities Career Cafe: Developing People or Humanities Career Cafe: Careers in Media & Writing to secure your spot.
