The University of Cape Town (UCT), along with various hotels around Cape Town, supported nearly 4 000 students with emergency accommodation after a devastating fire affected the Rondebosch campus on Sunday, 18 April.

UCT staff and student volunteers also assisted the students with various wellness workshops, including mental health workshops.

* Interviewees were afforded the choice to either wear masks or not during these interviews. Where interviewees chose not to wear masks, they chose to do so because they were in a well ventilated area, and were also socially distanced from the filming crew. Crew members wore masks at all times.
