SRC election results and other updates

Dear students and colleagues

This campus announcement aims to inform members of the University of Cape Town (UCT) community about:

1. Studentsʼ Representative Council election results

Elections for the 2019/20 UCT Studentsʼ Representative Council (SRC) took place from 23 to 27 September 2019. Voting was done either manually at voting stations or electronically. Provisional results were published on 30 September, followed by final results on 4 October after the Election Commission had resolved objections. The EFF Student Command (EFFSC) won 10 seats, the South African Students Congress (SASCO) four seats and an independent candidate one seat. The SRC portfolio allocation meeting took place on 8 October. The newly elected SRC’s term of office will commence on 1 November 2019.


2. ICTS scheduled maintenance

Please note that there will be an Information and Communication Technology Services (ICTS) scheduled maintenance slot from 09:00 until 17:00 on Sunday, 13 October. Unless advised to the contrary, do not expect any ICT services to be available for the duration of the maintenance slot.

Please remember to consult the list of scheduled ICTS maintenance slots for 2019 before planning any teaching activities, conferences, meetings, etc that require ICT services.
