The Development and Alumni Department's overseas regional representatives visited UCT recently to exchange information to strengthen and streamline operations.

This included a focus on social media strategies, improved understanding of knowledge management systems and improving business processes.

Holly Lawrence of the US-based UCT Fund Inc, Angela Edwards of the UCT Trust in the UK, as well as Di Stafford of UCT Foundation in Canada, spent five days in workshops and visiting departments that are key to their functions.

The three are UCT ambassadors, and are accountable to the boards of the countries in which they operate. Their duties include custodianship of funds raised, broadening of alumni engagement within the global diaspora, and organising fundraising trips for vice chancellor Dr Max Price.
