Sacha Hendricks (daughter of Deborah Hendricks, the Vice-Chancellor's personal assistant) has been handpicked from 600 hopefuls from all over South Africa to perform as the lead dancer in Sun City's Extravaganza, Afro Dizzia. Hendricks graduated from UCT in 2001 with a BMus degree in dance (distinction in contemporary dance) and in 2005 she obtained her honours in choreography. Between 2002 and 2004 she danced with Cape Town City Ballet. Her soloist roles include being the lead dancer in Let's face the music and dance from Sean Bovims Swingtime, Czardas from Swanlake and Coppelia, and a pas de deux from Adele Blank's Syzergy. In 2004 Hendricks choreographed a 25-minute, contemporary/neo-classical piece, which was performed by members of the Cape Town City Ballet. The 25-year old dancer has also modelled for various magazines and clothing companies. Her awards include being nominated as the best female dancer in the FNB Dance Umbrella, and in 2004 she received an honorary title from the Silverleaf Performing Arts.
