Cricket sides up the technological ante

Coach Brian McMillan (above right) promised to shake things up at the UCT cricket club. He's already instilled a new sense of discipline and professionalism in his wards. And since the start of his tenure with the first team, he has also been recording the side's games, hoping to help his players by going to the video footage and pointing out exactly where they went wrong - or right - in their bowling actions and strokes. A few weeks ago, he jacked up the club's technological edge when he got his company, Canon Corporate, to donate a spanking new Canon digital camcorder to the UCT team. With his small IT team, which includes the club's Mitchell More (above left), at the ready, his players can now come off the field and immediately view the footage. And while the camera may add a few pounds, it won't lie.
